The fact of health


Networking for Women's Health celebrates the 10-year anniversary of Argentina's National Network for Women's Health . This commemorative publication includes the thoughts and reflections of the women belonging to the member organizations of the network on a range of topics, including health, gender, violence, adolescent motherhood and menopause.

Also about osteoporosis is a debilitating disease that causes bones to become frgiles and are susceptible to fractures. In most cases can be prevented and treated, but if nothing is done, the disease progresses painlessly until a bone breaks.



Osteoporosis is a major health hazard for some 44 million Americans. At present 10 million people already have osteoporosis in the United States and 34 million more have low density, which increases their risk of developing the disease. 80% of people who have osteoporosis are women and 20% men.



The consequences of osteoporosis are terrible. Each year the disease causes an average millny fractures in the United States, most in the hip, spine and face, but can occur in any bone. It is possible to identify the density is low, and appropriate measures can be taken before you have osteoporosis and they break bones. Each year the fractures related to osteoporosis cost the country $ 18 billion of dollars
